Hoodia Patches or Hoodia Diet Pills for Better Results?
Posted by Reagan Miers in Diet Pills
As I’m sure you are aware, the companies who market and promote hoodia patches generally make the bold claim that a patch works much better than the usual hoodia diet pills. The theory is that by wearing a patch the hoodia will slowly work it’s way through your skin before passing into your bloodstream. Giving you a slow, constant supply of hoodia all day long.
Another claim they have is that because the hoodia enters your bloodstream directly, without having to work it’s way through your stomach, the patch will start having an effect much quicker compared to pills or liquid products.
Unfortunately while these claims sound genuine enough, there is actually very little evidence to back them up. In fact, there are very few studies on how effective hoodia gordonii is to start with, never mind any studies into hoodia patches.
One trick people fall into is believing that a hoodia patch is effective because they have seen other patches. Yes, nicotine patches and birth control patches seem to work, so people assume that hoodia patches are the same. But there are a lot of differences between these products.
In order to buy a birth control patch you must be issued a prescription, and until recently you needed a prescription to be able to get a nicotine patch too. They have only just become available over the counter. However, you don’t need a prescription for a hoodia patch, and this is an important factor to remember.
Before a product that required a prescription can go on sale to the public it must go through a lot of stringent testing to ensure that it is safe and effective. None of the hoodia patches available on the market today have ever required a prescription and so have never gone through this testing.
Hoodia gordonii is a cactus like plant which has been grown and harvested in the Kalahari Desert in South Africa by the San tribe for centuries. They use the hoodia plant in order to control their hunger while out on long hunting expeditions.
The original way of taking hoodia that the tribe use is to cut a small section a few inches in length from the plant. They would then peel the skin, and eat it. This would deliver all the hoodia needed to suppress their appetite for several hours. Eating the plant is obviously an effective method of delivery so which method do you think would be most effective: taking a pill which contains ground up hoodia powder, or wearing a patch on the outside of your skin?
It is the case that I believe that all hoodia patches are a useless waste of money, however I’m not trying to say that all of the hoodia diet pills are excellent. Far from it, it’s actually the case that the majority of hoodia products on the market today are actually fakes, which contain little to no actual hoodia gordonii at all.
Until there is a hoodia patch that actually works, your money will be better spent on a high quality hoodia diet pill that contains authentic hoodia gordonii and has been proven to be effective.
