Diet and Healthy Eating Tips

« How To Tone Muscles And Burn Fat   Acai Berry Antioxidant Complex »

by Ricardo d Argence

One of the first things a new mother worries about is how to get that pregnancy weight off. She doesn’t want to look like she’s still 4 months pregnant after the baby is born.

Unfortunately our society lauds women who are back to a size 2 within a month of giving birth. But did you ever stop to think that it might not be healthy to lose the weight that quickly? After all, it took you 9 months to put it on, why should it come off in 9 days?

Starvation diets and diet pills are unhealthy ways to go about losing weight. After childbirth, the mind and body can be a hormonal mess. Diet pills, laxatives, or a lack of proper eating will make this worse.

You also need proper nutrition for breastfeeding. Eating too little will cause your breast milk to dry up. Breastfeeding requires an extra 200-500 calories a day. This is one reason the body stores extra fat during pregnancy. The purpose is to fuel the body for producing breast milk. While you may have to consume more calories for breastfeeding, you will also burn up to 500 calories a day by breastfeeding!

When you starve yourself in order to lose weight, your metabolism slows way down. This will cause you to feel sluggish and lethargic. You may not even be able to adequately take care of your baby. Depriving yourself to lose weight is never the answer!

Most of us can’t afford personal trainers, dieticians, personal chefs, or a personal stylist and makeup artist to cover up all our flaws. So, we need to find healthy ways to lose the weight gradually like normal people do.

Women gain, on average, 25-30 pounds while pregnant. Usually the birthing process will get rid of about half of that. Eating a healthy diet is foremost when trying to lose that extra pregnancy weight. This is also vital if you are breastfeeding. A diet with 2000 calories is perfect.

It is best to start a moderate exercise program, carefully and slowly. Allow your body time to heal. Having a baby can be very strenuous on the body. It could be harmful to your body to begin a vigorous exercise routine in the beginning.

Don’t listen to the Hollywood guit when your trying to lose the baby weight faster than is healthy. I know that can be easier said than done, but think of your child. So to be the best mother you can you want to be healthy and happy. Fad diets and starving yourself are not going to help you loose weight.

Although many people all over the world are proclaiming the health benefits of following a Mediterranean Diet Plan to prevent artery disease, hypertension, high cholesterol, diabetes type 2, and much more, there is still some confusion about what this diet consists of. And that is in part because at times, different dietary plans are presented to us disguised as an Authentic Mediterranean Diet when the reality is that they have very little to do with it.

There is really no magic "diet" out there that is going to help you lose weight in a healthy manner and keep weight off.

Being that you are 13 years old it is important that you don't deprive your body of the things it needs and with some diets that can happen.

I would recommend following the food pyramid. That is the best diet you can do. And don't forget to exercise regularly.
